The island area is undergoing change day by day thanks to the devoted efforts of the tideland builders, who have sped up the reclamation in the spirit of South Hamgyong Province from the beginning of the year in order to carry out the militant tasks laid in the decision of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, the joint calls of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the WPK and the joint New Year editorial.

Touring different parts of the tideland being successfully reclaimed at the behests of leader Kim Jong Il, the premier learned in detail about the progress of the project and the matters arising in hastening its schedule.

Under the condition that dyke is wave-beaten by high tide, the officials and builders should conduct the project without letup through scrupulous organization and command over transport and effective use of vehicles, the premier stressed.

He called upon them to work miracles and feats in the gigantic project to widen the lands of the country, true to the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un and thus translate Kim Jong Il's desire for building a thriving nation into a brilliant reality.
