The man at issue is Yun Jin Sik, a lawmaker from the "Grand National Party" who was once senior presidential secretary for economic affairs at Chongwadae. He received illegal political fund from Yu Tong Chon, president of the Jeil Saving Bank.

Yu testified to the fact that he gave this money to Yun at the time of the parliamentary by-elections in July 2010.

This being a hard fact, Yun has denied his sin while the prosecution has downplayed its investigation into the case, asserting that it is hard to prosecute Yun on charges of bribery.

Criticizing this action, the opposition Democratic United Party warned that the people would never pardon the prosecution if it covers up such illegality for the mere reason that he is just an aide to the chief executive.
