The court took this action against him on charges that he conducted information activities through "With the Century", reminiscences of President Kim Il Sung, and books dealing with the Juche idea, national reunification, the revolutionary mass line and others and posted on Internet articles and animation files praising the DPRK.

Ri Yun Sop called a press conference in protest against the above-said court ruling.

He termed the NSL which punishes any patriotic movement for reunification as draconic.

He said that he would make every effort to put an end to division, the nation's greatest pain, and bring earlier Korea's reunification.
