"The arrest of Dweik is in violation of the international laws and is a stark violation of the international legitimacy as Dweik is a representative of the Palestinians and an elected member of the Palestinian legislative council," the 120-member lower house said in a statement.

Calling for the release of Dweik, the Lower House said it supports the Palestinians in the face of the Israeli occupation.
