He spent hours outside the command post despite strong wind to guide the flight training of airmen.

Satisfied to watch the trustworthy airmen in training, he said that all of them conducted valiant and bold training.

Recognizing Hero of the DPRK Ho Ryong who was commanding the flight, he praised him once again for his courageous combat action taken to beat back the intrusion into the territorial air of the country by a U.S. imperialist strategic reconnaissance plane.

After looking round the plane honored with the inspection by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, he praised the service personnel for taking good care of the plane.

He had a photo session with service personnel of the unit.

He gave the unit precious teachings, going round combat and technical apparatuses and military objects newly manufactured by it through a drive to modernize arms and equipment.

He highly praised the unit for performing its combat duty in a responsible manner while following the enemy's moves for aggression with vigilance and not slackening the high combat alertness even a moment.

Then he made the rounds of the service members' hall of the unit, a bedroom, mess hall and lecture room of the airmen of the sub-unit of the unit.

At the service members' hall, he underlined the need to continue directing big efforts to the political and ideological education to train all the airmen and soldiers as ones strong in idea and faith.

At the flight control drill hall he watched with keen attention airmen in cockpit training. He learned in detail about their training, creating different situations to be settled by them.

Walking the ground for foot flight training, he praised the airmen for making it part of their daily life to undergo flight training, thinking of the sky awake or asleep.

At the kitchen he told the cooks that airmen like food when it is prepared by diverse methods, even if they use the same foodstuff, urging them to prepare meals in such a way as to cater to the taste of the airmen.

Seated before the table for airmen, he recollected the words of Kim Jong Il that he would invite those airmen who were successful in the training held on Dec. 16 last year to visit Pyongyang, meet them and dine with them.

He visited the family of Ho Ryong, commander of the unit.

He kindly shook the hand of his wife Kim Jong Sil and went round each room of their house.

He had a photo taken with the couple.

He went outside when darkness was gathering. He asked her to tell the wives of the airmen that he hoped they would take better care of their husbands.
