Algeria Refuses to Provide Logistic Support to Western States

| Pyongyang, February 4 (KCNA) -- Algeria has refused to provide logistic support to French and British special forces ahead of their military operations against Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), local El Khabar newspaper reported Saturday. Algeria has rejected a French request to use Algerian territory for the landing of aircrafts and helicopters of special forces to track down senior militants of AQIM, the newspaper quoted a source close to the case as saying. The source said that the military operations against AQIM do not aim only at releasing Westerner hostages abducted by it, but also at conducting liquidation operations against senior officials of the terrorist group. |
