Newspaper of Overseas Koreans Blasts GNP's Red Herring

Pyongyang, February 4 (KCNA) -- Minjok Sibo, newspaper of overseas Koreans published in Japan, on Wednesday carried an article laying bare the truth about "the Grand National Party's" campaign kicked off to fool public in the run-up to the general election. The article referred to the fact that driven into a predicament, the GNP is desperately staging a "revamping" farce. The GNP failed in its policies mainly because it has pursued sycophancy towards the U.S. and a policy for escalating confrontation with the DPRK going against the trend of the era in which the nation aspires after peace, independence and reunification. The GNP is fielding new persons as candidates for the "National Assembly" election but this is meaningless unless a fundamental change is made in its policies. Conservative ever since it came into being, the GNP can never change in its nature. No matter how often the GNP is gilded, it is bound to lose the shine sooner or later. Park Geun-hye who became the chief of the Emergency Measure Committee of the GNP, too, is steeped in conservatism to the marrow of her bones. It was none other than Park who described the May 16 coup which suppressed the people who called for democratization and reunification under jack boots as "a revolution" and strongly opposed the repeal of the "Security Law". And she backed those who pursued the policy of confrontation with the DPRK and railroaded the "motion calling for ratification of FTA" through the "National Assembly." In the final analysis, Park and Lee Myung Bak are of the same group. One should not harbor any illusion about the GNP, warned the article. |
