Rodong Sinmun Tuesday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard:

It was the U.S. warmongers who created military tension and are now crying out for "self-restraint," terming reaction to it "provocation" and the like. This cannot but be a height of shamelessness.

The U.S. is busy informing the DPRK side of its saber-rattling in advance, claiming it poses no danger. But this gesture cannot alter the aggressive and provocative nature of the war exercises.

The number of the troops of the U.S. forces and south Korean puppet forces and their latest means for attack to be involved in the war maneuvers and their contents and nature including landing operations clearly prove that they are of aggressive and preemptive nature from A to Z.

The army and people of the DPRK will never remain a passive on- looker to this reckless saber-rattling.
