Minju Joson Flays US-Japan Joint Military Exercise

Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The U.S.-Japan joint military exercise codenamed "Yamasakura" took place in Japan from January 24 to February 5. Minju Joson Tuesday says in a bylined commentary in this regard: This military maneuver staged with troops of the U.S. Army in the Pacific and Japan and the Ground Self-Defense Force of Japan involved was a dangerous war drill gravely threatening the peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and the Asia-Pacific region. Involved in this saber-rattling for the first time in history were troops of the U.S. 8th Army in south Korea which played a pivotal role in the last Korean War and is now acting as a main force in the U.S. moves for a new Korean war. The participation of the above-said forces in the recent war maneuver indicates that the U.S. is keen to hold military supremacy not only in the Korean Peninsula but also in the rest of the Asia-Pacific region. It is as clear as noonday that if the U.S. strategy of attaching military importance to the Asia-Pacific region is carried out, it will escalate the military conflict and friction between the U.S. and other countries and finally spark off dangerous military confrontation. The U.S. oft-repeated "peace and security" are nothing but an artifice to fool the international community and a revelation of its ambition for aggression, war, military supremacy and domination. The U.S. would be well advised to think twice of the grave consequences to be entailed by its anachronistic policy of military supremacy and confrontation. |
