According to a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, dated December 21, Juche 100 (2011), the law consists of 34 articles in six chapters, dealing with the registration of businesses' founding, residence, taxation and customs.

Amendments were also made to the law on foreign-funded businesses and foreigners' tax payment and the law on insolvency of foreign-funded businesses.
