S. Korean Authorities Intensify Suppression of Progressive Forces

Pyongyang, February 11 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities arrested Yun Ki Ha, chairman of the measure committee against the suppression by the public security authorities under the Association of Victims of the "Security Law", on charges of the violation of the Law on Feb. 8, according to south Korean Internet newspaper Jaju Minbo.

This action was taken for the mere reason that he acted for national reunification as a member of the association for promoting the reunification of the Korean nation by the federal formula.

Protesting against this crackdown, the association accused the authorities of seeking to disorganize the body in retaliation against the attempt to set up an incense-burning altar for mourning over the demise of Kim Jong Il, chairman of the National Defence Commission.

Lurking behind this crackdown is a sinister aim to intensify the crackdown upon the progressive forces with the approach of the general election and the presidential election and thus create favorable conditions for the authorities, it said.
