The participants paid respects to Kim Jong Il.

Ella Rule, vice-chairman and international secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist), made a report.

He said Kim Jong Il devoted his all to achieving the freedom and happiness of the Korean people, achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the country and realizing the human cause of independence till the last moments of his life.

Kim Jong Il glorified the DPRK as a political, ideological and military power while shattering the moves of the imperialists to stifle the DPRK true to the behests of President Kim Il Sung, he noted.

The Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist) will adopt it as its policy to boost support and solidarity with the just cause of the Korean people, he stressed.

The speakers praised Kim Jong Il for firmly defending Korean-style socialism at a time when the world socialist movement suffered serious setback due to the incidents in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe later last century.

His works serve as the precious ideological and theoretical assets for not only the Korean people but the world progressives. The works also provide eternal guidelines of the world socialist movement and the anti-imperialist actions, they stressed.

They vowed to widely disseminate the works of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il not only within the party but among broad masses including the workers in the UK.

They expressed belief that the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people would register greater achievements in building a thriving socialist nation under the wise leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.
