The joint drills are a great threat to the peace and stability not only of the Korean Peninsula but the Asia-Pacific region as they are part of operation drills for invading the DPRK like the precedent ones, the statement said.

It is shameless for the U.S. imperialists and the Lee Myung Bak clique of south Korea to try to justify the planned drills as "defensive and normal ones", the statement said, adding:

It is sophism to call the U.S. forces present in south Korea "defenders" of the Korean land.

The U.S. and south Korea plan the war rehearsal drills at a time when the Korean people are gearing up to commemorate the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung while still grieving over the loss of General Secretary Kim Jong Il. This is an insult and provocation against the Korean people.

The U.S. imperialists and the Lee Myung Bak clique are seriously mistaken if they think they can go scot-free while holding the criminal Key Resolve and Foal Eagle.
