Kim Jong Il Prize Awarded in DPRK

| Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- A decision was made to award Kim Jong Il Prize to 24 persons who rendered distinguished services to socialist cultural construction of Juche on the occasion of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il. They are fully armed themselves with Kim Jong Il's idea and theory on Songun and performed distinguished feats in building socialist culture including science, education, literature and arts, media, public health and sports and thus greatly contributed to increasing the national strength, accelerating the building of a thriving socialist country and turning the DPRK into a developed, highly civilized state. A decree of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly on conferring the prize was issued on Feb. 9. |
