A celebration meeting took place at Azadi Square in the capital city of the country.

Present there were Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and government officials together with masses of different strata.

Speaking at the meeting, the president referred to the great achievements recently made in the political and economic fields of the country, the nuclear field in particular. The U.S. and the West are posing sanctions and military threat to Iran over its nuclear program but its people are triumphantly advancing toward the road chosen by themselves, he said.

Though their anti-Iran moves are so persistent and vicious, they will never bring the Iranian people to their knees, he said.

Chanting anti-U.S. slogans, the participants in the meeting expressed their full support for the government's stand to continue the peaceful nuclear program despite the enemies' obstruction.

Celebration events took place also in different cities of Iran.
