Academic Symposium Held in Tokyo

Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- An academic symposium of Korean social scientists in Japan took place in Tokyo on Tuesday in commemoration of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il. Its participants heard speeches made on the subjects "On the epoch-making exploits performed by the great leader General Kim Jong Il in carrying forward the revolutionary cause of the leader", "On the precious exploits performed by the great leader General Kim Jong Il in building an economic power" and "On the exploits performed by the great leader General Kim Jong Il in the work of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and the movement of the Koreans in Japan". The speakers recalled that he set forth a grandiose goal of building a thriving nation, the lifelong desire of President Kim Il Sung, and aroused the whole party and army and all the people, bringing about dramatic changes unprecedented in the history of the nation spanning 5 000 years. They lauded Kim Jong Il for leading Chongryon along the road of victory with his outstanding wisdom and tested leadership, projecting it as a model of the world overseas compatriots' movement. They stressed the shining leadership exploits of Kim Jong Il, tender-hearted teacher of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan, serve as an immortal treasure for the Juche-oriented movement of the Koreans in Japan. They called for laying a springboard for ushering in a new heyday this year under the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un without fail and making a report of loyalty to Kim Jong Il. Present at the symposium were Ko Tok U, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, Kim Hwa Hyo, chairman of the association and its other leading members, senior officials of central organizations and enterprises of Chongryon, teachers of Joson University and Korean senior schools in Japan and officials of Chongryon in Kanto area. |
