Since he began his work at the WPK Central Committee he had carried on active ideological activities to indicate a unique idea that a working-class party should become a party of the leader.

He formulated the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung as an integrated Juche system of idea, theory and method and worked hard to model the whole party on the Juche idea. This served as a turning point in making the WPK that of the President.

Under his energetic guidance, the cause of modeling the whole party on one idea was stepped up, resulting in the establishment of the party's monolithic ideological system.

His unique Songun (military-first) politics has brought about a fresh turn in strengthening the WPK.

In line with the requirements of the Songun era, he made efforts to enhance the role of party cells, improve the party work and effect a turn in the work method and style of party officials, thus developing the WPK into the guide of the Songun politics.

Thanks to the WPK's Songun politics and leadership, the DPRK has developed to be a political and ideological power and a military power equipped with up-to-date offensive and defensive means and nukes.
