The nearly 70 year-long history of Kim Jong Il is recorded with the undying feats performed by him for the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered by President Kim Il Sung, the statement said.

Born as the son of guerrillas on Mt. Paektu, he successfully carried forward and developed the revolutionary cause of the President, defended the purity of the Juche idea and performed undying feats not only in idea, theory and development of history and the world politics but in socialist economic construction and defence upbuilding of the DPRK, it noted.

He opened up a bright prospect for achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the country in the idea of "By our nation itself", it stated.

Noting that he, as supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, resolutely shattered the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet group's moves for aggression and put the sovereignty of the country and the dignity of the nation on the highest level with his original Songun politics, it said, and went on:

He was the people's leader who made ceaseless journeys for field guidance while always sharing bitters and sweets with the people, and the great man who made a great contribution to the world revolution.
