Events Held in Different Countries

| Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- Diverse events took place in different countries between Jan. 28 and Feb. 11 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of general secretary Kim Jong Il. They included meetings, book and photo exhibitions, handicraft exhibitions and film shows in Kyrgyzstan, South Africa, Mongolia, Brazil, Egypt, Myanmar, Ecuador, Bulgaria, Uganda, Ethiopia and Nigeria and an event held by the Women's International Democratic Federation. Displayed in their venues were immortal famous works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, books and photos on the revolutionary life and undying feats of the peerlessly great persons and handicrafts associated with the wisdom and creative talents of the Korean people. The chairman of the Central Council of the People Unity-"Kyrgys El" Republican Political Party of Kyrgyzstan in a speech said that Kim Jong Il comprehensively developed in depth the Juche idea and the Songun idea of Kim Il Sung and consolidated the single-minded unity of the whole society as firm as a rock through his energetic ideological and theoretical activities. The chairman of an area committee of the African National Congress of South Africa noted that the DPRK has registered signal achievements in building a thriving nation and global independence has dynamically advanced along its orbit as Kim Jong Il pursued the original Songun politics. The chairman of the Mongolian Mt. Paektu Association for Independent Development said Kim Jong Il made a great contribution to ensuring peace and security not only in the Korean Peninsula but in the rest of Northeast Asia. The chairman of the Brasilia Federal District Committee of the Brazilian Communist Party stressed that one of the greatest contributions made by Kim Jong Il was that he pursued the Songun politics, enabling the DPRK to proudly rank itself among the nuclear weapons states. The general director of the Ministry of Sports of Myanmar said that the world is recognizing the extraordinary Songun revolutionary idea and shining army commanding caliber of Kim Jong Il, adding it was entirely thanks to his Songun leadership that the Korean People's Army grew to be an army of the people enjoying their love and support and an invincible army capable of beating any formidable enemy at one blow. The participants of the film shows watched Korean films "Korea Today", "Reply of Korea", "Arms of Korea", "The Tower of the Juche Idea", etc. A message to the dear respected Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting in Mongolia. |
