Present at the events were officials of the Central Association of Korean Nationals in Russia, the United Confederation of Koreans in Sakhalin Region, the Association of Korean Nationals in Kamchatka Territory and the United Confederation of Koreans in Kamchatka Territory and compatriots.

They presented baskets of flowers to the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and paid tribute to them.

Jang Sun Jong, chairperson of the Central Association of Korean Nationals in Russia, said that Kim Jong Il is a distinguished Songun commander as he fully displayed the dignity of the country and the nation and made great contributions to world peace and security.

His undying feats will shine forever, the chairperson said, adding that the Koreans in Russia will strive for the country's reunification and prosperity under the guidance of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

Ri Chae Son, chairperson of the United Confederation of Koreans in Kamchatka Territory, lauded Kim Jong Il, finding himself on a train for the people's happiness and sharing sweets and bitters with them all his life, provided the present prosperity and ushered in the June 15 era of reunification.

A message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the seminar.

On the same day Koreans in Uzbekistan held a similar event at the DPRK embassy in Tashkent.
