Hu, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks Monday at the 32nd group study of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

Increasing employment is key to guarantying and improving people's well-being and should be prioritized in China's economic and social development, Hu said.

China supports laborers and the self-employed through various channels and policies, while pushing forward financial and social assistance to the unemployed, Hu said. All relevant departments or administrations should coordinate with each other to ensure good performance in this area.
