Rodong Sinmun Thursday observes this in a bylined article. Japan's attempt to fabricate the criminal protocol dates back to early in the 20th century, the article notes. But, it could not realize this in face of the strong opposition on the part of the Korean feudal government.

Citing facts to prove that the protocol was an illegal and invalid document fabricated by the Japanese imperialists through highhanded practices, threats and coercion, the article goes on:

By fabricating the brigandish protocol, the Japanese imperialists provided legal conditions for turning Korea into their colony. In the subsequent period, they, using the protocol as a framework, cooked up the "Ulsa Five-point Treaty" in 1905 and the "Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty" in 1910.

Nevertheless, Japan is still insisting on the "legality" of the "treaties" faked by the Japanese imperialists in a brigandish manner including the "Korea-Japan Protocol."

This is absolutely intolerable as it was the falsification of the historical facts and violation of international law. A particular mention should be made of the facts that the Japanese reactionary forces are denying, embellishing and justifying what the Japanese imperialists committed in the past, letting loose a spate of such reckless remarks as "'Korea-Japan annexation' was the choice made by Koreans" and "there were agreements with different countries of the world". This is a revelation of their criminal intention to go without settling the crimes committed in the past and repeat their history of aggression.

Minju Joson says if Japan launches militarist overseas aggression again, seized by its foolish daydream, failing to face up to the situation, it will never get rid of the abyss of ruin.
