Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, supreme commander of the Korean People's Army and supreme leader of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people, enjoyed concert "The Hearts Following the Sun" commemorating the Day of the Shining Star given by the Unhasu Orchestra. After the national anthem was played, the audience observed a moment's silence in memory of general secretary Kim Jong Il. When the image of tender-hearted Kim Jong Il appeared on the background of the stage of the concert which began with chorus "Smile of Love", the whole audience stood up all at once and broke into enthusiastic applause. Put on the stage were serial songs of immortal masterpieces "Embrace of Country" and "O Korea, I Will Add Glory to Thee", female solo and pangchang "The Place the General Indicated", chorus "Straight", mixed quartet and pangchang "We Will Resemble the General," chorus "We Advance to Continue the March of Mt. Paektu" and other colorful numbers. The performers enthusiastically sang of the unbounded yearning for Kim Jong Il, who led the revolutionary cause of Juche along the road of one victory after another. In trombone solo and chorus "Thinking of the General", chorus "Yearning Is Boundless" and other numbers the performers emphasized the facts that the Korean people could fully demonstrate the dignity and might of Kim Il Sung's nation thanks to Kim Jong Il's long journeys for the Songun revolution and it was thanks to all sorts of sufferings he underwent that they could enjoy happiness and joy. The performance reached a climax as narration and orchestral music "Tears of Korea" began. The audience was moved to tears, thinking of Kim Jong Il, who built the DPRK into a great socialist power of Songun based on single-minded unity and bid last farewell to the nation, amid a heavy fall of snow after making troublesome journeys along mountain ridges for the country and its people. As the concert was over, Kim Jong Un warmly waved to the enthusiastically cheering performers and audience. He highly appreciated their successful performance, expressing great satisfaction over the splendid performance which may instill strength and courage into the service personnel and people. He set forth tasks which would serve as guidelines for art creative activities. Among the audience were Ri Yong Ho, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Kang Sok Ju, Jang Song Thaek, Kim Yang Gon, Pak To Chun, Choe Ryong Hae, Thae Jong Su, Kim Phyong Hae, U Tong Chuk and other officials of party, state and armed forces organs, service personnel of the KPA and people from all walks of life and students in Pyongyang. |
