Day of Shining Star Marked at DPRK Missions

Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- Receptions, friendship meetings, book and photo exhibitions and film shows took place at DPRK missions in various countries between Feb. 9 and 17 to mark the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il. They included DPRK missions in Beijing and Hong Kong of China, Nakhodka and Khabarovsk of Russia, Cuba, Vietnam, Syria, Cambodia, Nepal, Mongolia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Singapore, Iran, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, France, Poland, Guinea, Nigeria, Democratic Congo, Uganda, Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea, Mexico, Brazil and Peru and the DPRK permanent missions at UN and UN Office and International Organization in Geneva. Seen on the front walls there were portraits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and pictures of the President and Kim Jong Il standing together. Floral baskets and bouquets were laid before them. Displayed in the venues were famous works of the President and Kim Jong Il and books and photos of Songun Korea. Korean films shown included "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation", "Arms of Korea", "The Tower of the Juche Idea" and "Pyongyang at Night". Present there on invitation were personages of governments, political parties, parliaments, organizations, institutions, organizations for the study of the Juche idea, friendship and solidarity organizations with the Korean people in those countries, diplomatic envoys and personages of international, regional and non-governmental organizations. Meanwhile, a film show was held at a DPRK mission of forestry in Amur of Russia on February 14. |
