They had an inaugural meeting at the conference hall of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions on Wednesday.

An inaugural declaration was read out at the meeting.

It deplored in the declaration that education has become avaricious one of teaching exploitation and plunder, not truth, during the office of Lee Myung Bak.

One cannot speak about progress unless this situation of education is put on a right track, the declaration noted, and went on:

If a fundamental change is to be effected in education, it is necessary to struggle in the spirit of the fighters who dedicated themselves to democracy in the past.

It underscored the need for the trade unions in the field of education to form a community of protesters and frustrate capital's domination over the educational field in unity.
