Placed at the big photo of the deceased was a wreath sent by the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

Seen before it were wreaths in the name of the Presidium of the DPRK SPA, the Cabinet, a friendly party, the C.C., the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea, social organizations, ministries, national institutions, relevant organs of overseas compatriots and religious organizations.

Present at the service were Choe Yong Rim, Choe Thae Bok, Yang Hyong Sop, Kim Yang Gon, Choe Ryong Hae, a chairperson of a friendly party, officials of social organizations, ministries, national institutions, relevant organizations of overseas compatriots and religious organizations and working people in the City. Koreans in Japan including the delegation of the officials of Chongryon led by Pak Ku Ho, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, also attended the service.

The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the late So Man Sul.

DPRK Premier Choe Yong Rim, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, said in the memorial address:

So Man Sul's death is a big loss to Chongryon, Koreans in Japan and the people in the motherland.

So Man Sul rendered distinguished services in defending and embodying the idea and leadership of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il all his life and made a tangible contribution to the development of the Juche-oriented overseas compatriots movement with devoted efforts for the country and the nation.

After the liberation of the country, he worked hard to implant the soul of the Korean nation into young Koreans and rally them around the President.

He made a great contribution to the movement for supporting and realizing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and positive efforts to carry out the work to strengthen the solidarity with the world progressive people including the Japanese people.

Thanks to the boundless trust and love of the peerlessly great persons, he earned fame as the world renowned genuine revolutionary, ardent patriot and veteran overseas compatriot activist. His noble feats will be handed down in the history of the nation with the patriotic cause of Chongryon, Choe concluded.
