At a recent meeting with a senior official of the U.S. Department of State, the president called for the pullout of U.S. troops from Manas Airport before 2014 withdrawal deadline. The presence of outside forces in the airport past 2014 would not be allowed, he stressed.

He added Kirgyzstan would develop ties with the U.S. on the basis of meeting its state interests.
