Rodong Sinmun Monday says in a bylined commentary in this regard:

This is an unpardonable provocation to do harm to the sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK and a dangerous adventure to escalate the tension on the Korean Peninsula and ignite a war against the DPRK.

The danger of the annual saber-rattling has already been brought to light but it has never assumed such provocative nature as the current exercises.

The inter-Korean relations have gone to such phase of crisis that they may develop into a total war due to even a slight military action or accidental incident.

Warmongers at home and abroad claim that their joint military maneuvers have nothing to do with the situation on the peninsula nor pose any threat to anyone as they are "annual drills" and "are of defensive nature." But this is nothing but a sheer lie to cover up the provocative nature of the saber-rattling and calm down domestic and foreign voices branding them as wreckers of peace.

The U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces, in fact, made a silent declaration of a war against the DPRK by kicking off Key Resolve.

It was entirely just that the DPRK National Defence Commission clarified its steadfast stand to wipe out the cursed group of aggressors bringing dark clouds of a nuclear war to hang over the inviolable land and take strong self-defensive measures for defending the sovereignty and dignity of the nation and the peace of the country.

The DPRK will react against the war saber-rattling of the U.S. and the Lee Myung Bak group with a merciless punishment.
