Mun took part in field protests against the construction of the base, a project that has been pushed forward by the authorities.

Last year he joined members of the civic and public organizations of various circles and inhabitants on the island in protesting in areas around the construction site.

The fascist public security forces walked off him and other protestors several times. Recently they went the lengths of indicting them on charges of the interference in the execution of the duties.

The Jeju District Court held a final trial on February 24 in which it sentenced Mun and 11 others to imprisonment.

As regards the legal measure of the authorities, Mun said that the construction of the military base is unlawful and it is just to denounce the construction, declaring that no one can quench their will against the construction of the naval base.
