Sports Contest for Paektusan Prize Closes

| Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- The sports contest for Paektusan Prize closed with due ceremony at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street on Tuesday. The contest was opened on Feb. 10 in the run-up to the Day of the Shining Star. Men and women players of the April 25 Sports Group came first in basketball and volleyball events. Men's players of the Ryongnamsan Sports Group and women's players of the April 25 Sports Group emerged winners in the hand ball matches while men's players of the April 25 Sports Group and women's players of the Rimyongsu Sports Group came first in the group table tennis event. Present at the ceremony were officials concerned and sportspersons. Pak Myong Chol, minister of the Physical Culture and Sports, made a closing address. |
