Officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and agricultural guidance institutions at all levels are working in an organized manner to ensure the highest yielding from the first crops.

The sowing is being promoted as scheduled thanks to the efforts of officials and farmers. They started the sowing in the right season after making full preparations including acquisition of seeds of good strains, selection of the right soil for double cropping and repair of farm machines.

Pyongyang has concentrated efforts under the plan to increase the areas under wheat and barley 1.2 times as against last year.

Agricultural workers in Raknang, Sadong and Ryokpho Districts and Kangnam County are making an effective use of machines.

Jungsan County in South Phyongan Province has finished sowing in more than 100 hectares in a few days, coming first in the province.

Fields, in which sowing has been done, are on the increase on farms in Sariwon City and Pongsan and Suan counties, North Hwanghae Province.

Agricultural workers in South Hwanghae Province have already done 30 percent of sowing while those in Nampho City are expanding the achievements.

Farms including North Phyongan, South Hamgyong and Kangwon provinces also started sowing seeds in the thawed land.
