The "orange revolution" will produce only abnormal phenomena and their consequences are miserable and negative, he said, adding the democratic development in Russia is barring the spread of the "orange revolution" to the country.

Russia should defend its sovereignty and disallow anyone to interfere in its internal affairs and in this sense the army should act as a guardian of sovereignty, he stressed.

Democracy cannot be exported but should be cultivated in the soil of the country, he noted.
