Rodong Sinmun Calls for Foiling Imperialists' Moves to Tighten Sanctions
Pyongyang, February 29 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a bylined article calls for foiling the imperialists' evermore undisguised moves to tighten sanctions.

Referring to the aims sought by the imperialists in tightening sanctions, the article notes:

The imperialists are deliberately interfering in the internal affairs of other countries in a bid to impose Western style "view on value" on them.

When this method turns out to be unworkable, they woo the United Nations, etc. into taking collective measures for sanctions. They go lengths of taking such outrageous and arbitrary actions as perpetrating armed invasion.

When any country fails to meekly obey them, the hegemonic forces run the whole gamut of plots to find an excuse for slapping sanctions against it.

They are aimed at hindering its economic development and deteriorating its people's living.

Then the imperialists conduct false propaganda that the failure in this respect is attributable to its wrong state policy, instigating its people to anti-government actions and creating illusion about them in a bid to bring down its government.

They are working hard to weaken the defence capabilities of other nations in an effort to establish military domination over them with ease.

A lot is suggested by what is going on in the region of Persian Gulf where the situation is so tense that even a slight accidental case can spark off a war.

The forces hostile to the DPRK have enforced sanctions on the Korean people for more than half a century in the most despicable manner.

The U.S. is contemplating taking a measure for escalating the sanctions on the DPRK these days, the article notes. The imperialists, however, can never browbeat the Korean people through the sanctions.
