The pressure on Belarus is gaining in scope and getting crafty in its methods in the fields of politics, economy, etc., the president said. The national defence is no longer an issue related to the service personnel only.

The social unity ensures a strategic edge in any showdown, he said.

Noting that the mode of social, political and economic development in Belarus has been confirmed to be solid, he expressed conviction that the nation's military mechanism would provide the people with peaceful and creative labor and stability.

The present world is facing new challenges and threats, he noted, adding more and more countries are exposed to undisguised aggression.
