Today marks the 93rd anniversary of the March First Popular Uprising, an event recorded in the Korean history of struggle against foreign forces.

Still ringing in our ears are the shouts for independence made by the Koreans waging unflinching actions in high spirit to win back the sovereignty of the country from the armed Japanese imperialists.

Even though 93 years have passed since the uprising, the misery and wounds the Japanese imperialist gangsters left on the Koreans still remain unhealed in their minds.

However, Japan, far from making an honest apology and reparation for their serious crimes, is seeking to make reinvasion, being engrossed in the moves to distort history and seize Tok Islets.

The conservative ruling forces of south Korea, availing themselves of the Japanese moves for reinvasion, committed such treacherous act of betrayal of the country and the people as selling Tok Islets, part of the inviolable territory of Korea, to Japan without hesitation.

The present reality urgently demands the 70 million Koreans to unite as one to force Japan to redress its past crimes, wipe the group of traitors out of this territory and accomplish the historic cause of national dignity, sovereignty, peace and reunification.

We earnestly appeal to all Koreans in the north and the south and overseas to fulfill their duty as a member of the Tangun nation in response to the demand of the Koreans and call of the times.

Let all Koreans wage a more dynamic mass movement to wrest from Japan an apology and reparation for the shuddering crimes.

Let us foil the revival of Japanese militarism and reject in unity its moves for reinvasion.

Independence is what keeps the nation alive and dependence on foreign forces leads to ruin.

Let us reject the uncalled-for interference and pressure by the foreign forces through escalated actions against foreign forces from the stand of maintaining national independence and prioritizing the nation's interests.

Never allow the treachery of the conservative forces who take to flunkeyism by relying on foreign forces.

Support and maintain the June 15 joint declaration and its action programme October 4 declaration.

This year marks the 5th anniversary of the publication of the historic October 4 declaration. Let us stir up throughout the country the atmosphere of supporting and carrying out the declaration this year together with the organizations and personages aspiring after the implementation of the north-south joint declaration and peace and national reunification.

Let us advance the June 15 reunification era by achieving the reconciliation and unity of the nation.

Let us mark this year as a year of victory for pro-reunification patriotic forces by overwhelming the anti-reunification forces in and out in the spirit of becoming benefactors and building a paradise under the banner of "By our nation itself."

At this moment there go on dangerous war moves threatening the destiny of the nation to impose the nuclear disaster upon it.

Let us turn out as one in the campaign for peace against war to hinder and foil the reckless war exercises that threaten well-being and peace of the nation.

No force on earth can arrest the united Koreans in their grand and vigorous march for independence and reunification demonstrating the spirit of the homogenous nation with Tangun as the nation's founder.

Let us make a breakthrough toward independence, peace and reunification without fail by meeting all challenges in the way of reunification and staging a dynamic reunification movement with fresh conviction under the banner of the historic north-south joint declaration.
