New Diamond Drill Bit Developed in DPRK

| Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- A diamond research group at the State Academy of Sciences of the DPRK succeeded in making a new kind of diamond drill bit by thermal compression at low temperature. The new bit is good in ensuring drill's safe operation and raising the tempo of prospecting work. The research group also developed high-performance drilling tools needed to widen drilling hole and built a base for their production. The newly developed bit is of great technological and economic significance. This development makes it possible to produce high-performance diamond bit with locally available raw materials. The new bit has already been accepted by some prospecting units, mines and collieries in the country. |
