Kim Jong Il's feats in defending socialism find an expression in the facts that he clearly indicated the road to the victory of socialism with his outstanding ideas and theories and made sure that the advantages of Korean-style socialism were fully demonstrated in the practical struggle for revolution and construction.

He formulated the revolutionary idea, the Juche idea of President Kim Il Sung as the guiding idea of the present era through his energetic ideological and theoretical activities in his early years.

Kim Jong Il saw to it that the Songun idea was held fast to as an ever-victorious treasured sword in the present era as required by the developing revolution.

He enunciated ideas and theories on firmly arming the popular masses with socialist idea, strictly adhering to the socialist principles and preserving the nature of socialism in all fabrics of social life. All other ideas and theories propounded by him are run through with the aims to defend and glorify socialism.

He fully disclosed the hypocrisy and reactionary nature of the imperialists' false propaganda that socialism is "totalitarian", "barracks-like" and "administrative and commanding" with his perfect logic and proved the validity of the socialist cause and the inevitability of its victory.

He put forward the popular masses as a base of socialism and made everything serve the people. He solved all the problems arising in the revolution and construction by enlisting creative enthusiasm of the popular masses.

Socialism in the DPRK is now demonstrating its great vitality. It is the true picture of the Korean people that they are meeting the requirements of Juche in ideology, technology and culture without the slightest deviation from the collectivist principle, socialist principle.
