Seen in various parts of Pyongyang including Mangyongdae Revolutionary Site, April 15 Children's Flower Garden and Moran Hill were people and planting and watering trees.

The government made a detailed survey of the actual situation of afforestation throughout the country before the spring tree-planting campaign. On this basis it set a workable plan and gave precedence to ensuring conditions and technical guidance for afforestation.

The nurseries in the capital city and provinces of the country have grown good species of saplings in a larger quantity while taking steps to raise the rate of rooting by rational method.

In recent years a tree-planting campaign has been conducted throughout the country, making big strides in afforestation.

On March 2, Juche 35 (1946) President Kim Il Sung, together with Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero, climbed Moran Hill in Pyongyang and called for turning the country into a picturesque land covered with green foliage.
