The army and people of the DPRK are fully ready to fight against the war provokers of the U.S. and south Korea, it said, adding the exercises will rapidly strain the situation not only in the Korean Peninsula but in the rest of the region.

The DPRK warned of the possible consequences and made clear its stand that no one can ever predict the future developments, it noted.

A tense situation will prevail in the Korean Peninsula as military exercises will last for two months, it said, noting that this will create a very grave situation in the military and international political aspects, in the relations between the north and the south of Korea in particular.

The U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises are a blatant provocation which will invite a strong counteraction from the DPRK, it concluded.
