Agreements adopted between the north and the south of Korea in the past call for removing confrontation between both sides through respect for each other's ideology and social system, halt to slandering each other and prevention of armed conflicts.

The DPRK initiated reasonable proposals for easing political and military confrontation between the north and the south and removing the source of war, thereby creating conditions favorable to national reconciliation, unity and reunification, and has done its utmost for their materialization.

But, traitor Lee Myung Bak totally denied the June 15 Joint Declaration and the October 4 Declaration soon after he came to power, and laid hurdles to opening of reunification-related events to be held jointly by nongovernmental organizations in the north and the south and abroad.

The traitor, bereft of national conscience and concept of fellow nationals, openly declared an all-out confrontation against the DPRK, while insisting that cooperation would never improve the north-south relations.

Due to his heated confrontational moves, the Agreement on Reconciliation, Non-aggression, Cooperation and Exchange between North and South has become ineffective, including the articles on the military demarcation line in the West Sea of Korea in particular.

In recent years such cases as "Cheonan" warship sinking and Yonphyong Island shelling took place one after another in the West Sea where the north and the south stand in acute military showdown, thus causing a touch-and-go situation. This was attributable to traitor Lee, a confrontation maniac seeking to realize his design for invasion of the DPRK.

The Korean people are fully determined to punish the Lee group of traitors, who has driven the north-south confrontation to an extreme phase and trampled upon the nation's desire for independent reunification, peace and prosperity.
