The dear respected Kim Jong Un received messages from presidents of Russia, Syria, Myanmar, Uganda, Democratic Congo and Guinea, the chairman of the Mongolian People's Party, the general chairwoman of the Central Directive Council of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, the coordinator (leader) of the National Coordinating Committee of the Workers' Party of Mexico and other heads of states and parties in different countries.

Statements were released by organizations of Mongolia, Indonesia and Britain and many personages including the president of the Bangladesh People's League, the general secretary of the Movement for Peace and Socialism of Italy, the chairman of the Arab Socialist Party of Egypt, the general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Vanguard of Costa Rica, the secretary general of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea and the director-general of the European Society for the Study of the Juche Idea.

Floral baskets and bouquets were sent to the DPRK missions in different countries to pray for the immortality of Kim Jong Il.

They were sent by political parties, government ministries, organizations and organs in different countries including China, Cuba, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, the Czech Republic and the U.S. and international and regional organizations and famous personages of political and public circles.

Many personages visited the DPRK missions to lay floral baskets before the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and full-length pictures of the peerlessly great men standing together and paid highest tribute to them.

Gifts were presented to Kim Jong Il praying for his immortality by different foreign organizations and personages. They included the State Academic Igor Moiseyev Dance Company of Russia, the Brazilian Centre for Peace and Solidarity with Peoples and the Al Bayan National Trading Company of Kuwait and Kuwaiti and Vietnamese personages.

Kim Jong Il was awarded a prize and honorary titles by organizations and cities in different countries. The Nepal Journalist Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Songun Politics conferred the Nepalese International Peace Prize on him and the Soekarno Foundation for Education of Indonesia the title of its honorary chairman. Titles of honorary citizenship were awarded to him by Gusau City, Zamfara State, and Damaturu City, Yobe State, Nigeria, and Caluma City, Bolivar Province, Ecuador.

Kimjongilia shows were held with splendor in Dalian, China, and Nakhodka and Vladivostok, Russia.

Korean book, photo and handicraft exhibitions opened in Ulan-Ude, capital of Buryatiya, Russia, and many countries including China, Malaysia, Bulgaria, Guinea, Congo, Uganda, Ecuador, Brazil and Dominican Republic and by the Women's International Democratic Federation.

Works of the peerlessly great man were published in pamphlet by various units including the Victorial Publishing House of Pakistan, the Group of Dialectical Materialists of Italy and the Publishing House of the Workers' Party of Mexico. Media of various countries carried full texts or gists of their works.

The short biography of Kim Jong Il was widely introduced in Russia, Nepal, Syria, Kuwait, Democratic Congo, Bulgaria, Peru and Brazil.

Media of various countries gave wide publicity to events held to commemorate the Day of the Shining Star.

Political parties and organizations in different countries and international and regional organizations released bulletins or posted articles on their Internet homepages under "Son of Mt. Paektu", "February 16, 70th birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il" and "Leader Kim Jong Il will always be alive" and other titles.
