North-targeted War Drill May Lead to All-out War, Warns South Korean

Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- Thongil News, Internet newspaper of south Korea, Tuesday carried an article "Exercises for a war against the north may lead to an all-out war" contributed by Kwon O Hon, honorary chairman of the Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy. The article said that large-scale Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises have been under way since Feb. 27 with hundreds of thousands of troops involved at a time when ceaseless drills for a war against the DPRK are going on in collusion with the U.S. War-like forces are making oft-repeated excuses that the ongoing war drills are "defensive and annual ones" but they are the ones for preemptive nuclear attack and a war against the DPRK as follow-ups of Team Spirit in the light of their nature, purposes, scale and types of hardware involved, the article noted, adding: To insist that the joint military exercises pursuant to OPLAN 5027 and OPLAN 5029 are defensive ones is as shameless an act as trying to eclipse the sun with a palm. The saber-rattling that may lead to an all-out war is an action of disturbing peace and stability as it is a product of the U.S. military presence in south Korea and its hostile policy toward the DPRK and the south Korean authorities' cooperation with the U.S. The article urged the south Korean and U.S. authorities to stop military actions for stifling the DPRK but withdraw the U.S. forces from south Korea. |
