Cuba Calls for Global Efforts for Solving Food Problem

Pyongyang, March 11 (KCNA) -- A representative of Cuba, speaking at a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council held in Geneva on March 6, called for global cooperation and solidarity in the efforts to eradicate starvation.

Noting food price is on the steady rise and the agricultural products are not equally distributed worldwide, the representative said it is important to establish a fair and democratic international order to tackle the problem.

Starvation is a serious problem as it is not only limited to the Horn of Africa but affects over 80 developing countries, the representative noted.
