"The repeated assaults and aggressions of the Zionist regime's military men against the defenseless Palestinian people in Gaza... are condemned as war crimes and inhuman acts," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"The international community and the human rights bodies are required not to keep mum about such flagrant violations of human rights and massacre of the defenseless Palestinian people by the Zionists but act upon their human and legal duty and responsibility for defending the Palestinian people."

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said Saturday that Turkey strongly condemned Israel over its recent deadly air strikes on the Gaza Strip.

Turkey called on the world not to remain indifferent but to react to Israel's "disproportionate and indiscriminate retaliatory attacks" on Gaza, the ministry said in a statement.

The statement said that the current fighting could spiral out of control and benefit no one, demanding an immediate calm in the strip and urging Israel to end its inhumane and unacceptable policies toward Gaza."
