As regards the U.S. and EU clarification of their stand that they might impose economic sanctions on Belarus, the statement pointed out that it can not tolerate economic pressure.

Such steps would negatively affect ordinary people and do harm to the process of regional cooperation and integration, it said.

Only dialogue based on equality and mutual respect would help settle international disputes, it said, calling for ending any act that may block dialogue.
