Pyongyang, March 15 (KCNA) -- Astronomical phenomena have been witnessed in the night sky above western Korea in recent days. In this regard, KCNA met Kim Rin Haeng, a researcher at the Pyongyang Observatory under the State Academy of Sciences. Kim said: "It is unusual that Venus and Jupiter are throwing rays in the same direction. The depression between Venus and Jupiter stayed at 3 degrees at around 21:00 Sunday. That night, Venus disappeared about 6 minutes earlier than Jupiter. On March 20, the two planets are expected to pass the meridian at intervals of about 19 minutes. Afterwards, Jupiter will be the first to disappear. Such phenomena are very unusual. Their proximity is considered accidental. It will last until the end of April." |
