Han Chang Gil (67), a man living in Haeun-dong No 1, Phyongchon District, told KCNA:

"I believed satellites named after Kwangmyongsong (shining star) would be launched one after another.

Our country succeeded in launching home-made satellites under the worst situation -- ceaseless blockade and pressure by the imperialists.

It is my great pleasure and pride to think of the satellite which will soon fly high while dealing blow to the arrogant powers keen to dominate the world by conquering the universe."

Han Ryon Hui (43), a woman living in Chongryu-dong No 2, Taedonggang District, said:

"Now I feel great national pride. Kim Il Sung's nation, mentally strong and resourceful, has inexhaustible technological and economic potentials for making anything once it is determined to do.

We will clearly show the world how the DPRK has built up its strength as an independent power."
