Russian FM Urges U.S. to Provide Legal Assurances

Moscow, March 18 (KCNA) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in his speech at a recent national conference, urged the U.S. to give legal assurances over the missile defense system.

He said if the U.S. does not intend to modify anything in its plan for MD, it should give Russia assurances that it is not targeted against the latter.

Noting that there is a serious problem in the Russia-U.S. relations, he said that whether the U.S. can address the concerns of Russia or not will be a barometer for the bilateral relations.
