DPRK Premier Learns about Work in Different Fields in Chongjin City

Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) -- DPRK Premier Choe Yong Rim learned about the work in different fields in Chongjin City, North Hamgyong Province on March 16 and 17. Among them were the Ranam Coal Mining Machine Complex, the Chongjin Steel Works, the Susongchon Combined Foodstuff Factory and the Namsok Co-op Farm in Songphyong District. While going round different units now alive with the labor drive in response to the flames of Hamnam, the premier acquainted himself in detail with the production of custom-built equipment and irons and steels, technological updating, quality of foodstuff and preparations for immediate farming. The officials and other working people in the city are bringing about a surge in production and construction to honor their pledge they made before the bier of leader Kim Jong Il. The premier encouraged the workers at the relevant units in their labor drive and took measures to boost production. He convened a consultative meeting of officials concerned on the basis of his survey of economic affairs in the city. The meeting discussed practical matters for sprucing up the city as a modern city and improving the standard of the people's living. It took measures to put the material-supply plan on par with production plan, organize the supply of fuel, raw materials and electricity in a reasonable manner, step up the modernization of railways and increase freight turnover. |
