Japanese Reactionaries' Militarist Ambition for Overseas Expansion Assailed: Minju Joson

Pyongyang, March 20 (KCNA) -- The Japanese government has reportedly begun the examination for the revision of "law on cooperation in UN peace-keeping operations." The major objective of the revision is to moderate the standard of arms use of the "Self-Defense Forces" during "UN peace-keeping operations." The Japanese government said the revision is aimed to provide "protection" and "self-defense" to members of "Self-Defense Forces" and civilians during SDF's involvement in "UN peace-keeping operations" overseas. Commenting on this, Minju Joson Tuesday dismisses this as a cheap burlesque to deceive others and justify their sordid intention. Craftiness and shamelessness have been nature peculiar to Japan, the paper says, and goes on: The Japanese reactionaries obsessed by militarist ambition for overseas expansion have long worked hard to revise Article 9 of the Constitution which binds their hands and feet. In parallel with this, the Japanese reactionaries cooked up several laws including "law on cooperation in UN peace-keeping operations" in 1992 and "law on special measures against terrorism" in October 2001 by interpreting the Constitution to be useful to them. This resulted in rendering the Constitution defunct and paving the way for the SDFs' overseas advance. But not satisfied with this, the Japanese reactionaries seek to pave the way for the SDF troops operating overseas to carry out military activities for aggression unhindered. Herein lies the reason that they try to ease the standard of arms use for their military operations overseas. All facts prove that Japan has stepped up the preparations for aggression and war, far from working for peace. Japanese politicians should not forget the miserable end their predecessors met by leading the country to ruin, pursuant to a war line. |
